Why Do We Have Blind Spots?

"Anything outside yourself, this you can see and apply your logic to it. But it's a kind of human trait that when we encounter personal problems, these things most deeply personal are the most difficult to bring out for our logic to scan. We tend to flounder around, blaming everything but the actual, deep-seated thing that's really chewing on us."
-- Frank Herbert (from his Dune series books)

I couldn't have said it better myself. Which is why we need good friends who will tell us when we are in a blind spot, and who we can tell when they are in a blind spot.

More tomorrow....
